Level 2 -Adult Crochet Toys

Private Lesson (One on One)

These 45 minute lesson times can be used to learn techniques for knitting or crocheting, from beginner to experienced. Please Note: Most of our private lessons are scheduled outside normal business hours. The sign may say closed but the door will be unlocked.

This level continues to build on the skills you learned in Level 1 and works on mastering the purl stitch, with the opportunity to start simple projects. In order to take Level 2 you must have the skills taught in Level 1 which are , slip knot, basic cast on, and the knit stitch. Feel free to call or email the shop if you have questions.

Great American Afghan KAL

This amazing afghan will enhance any d?cor. With 24 different squares there is something to learn for just about everyone. The class will meet on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays from Noon to 2PM, starting February 18th, 2023. A list of dates and which squares will be highlighted at each class will be handed out at the first class.

Learn to Knit (Level 1, Novice)

Let us help you learn to knit. In this class we will cover all of the basics. Level 1 meets weekly for 4 weeks. The class is suitable for ages 5 to 95. If you are outside this age range and want to learn we will give you special consideration.

So you've finished Level 1 or you learned to knit a long time ago and you only remember the bare basics. What's next? This sampler stitch scarf is a logical next step. Lots to learn and lots of practice which is what you need to become a proficient knitter. Required Skills are Cast-on, Bind-off, Knit and Purl.

Fix-It Class (Knitting)

Would you like to learn how to fix a mistake instead of starting over, or finding someone to fix it for you? This class is the first step toward that independence. Please not that there is homework listed below that must be done before class. In this class we will learn how to pick up dropped stitches in different stitch patterns, how to change a knit to a purl and back again, common mistakes that change your stitch count and how to fix them, and much more.

First Time Sock (Top Down)

Have you always thought that hand-made socks sounded like a lovely thing to have? They are. These socks are worked on worsted weight yarn with double point needles. Most will finish at least one sock by the end of the three sessions of class. The pattern will be provided and there is a 10% discount on yarn and needles for this project. This class is always fun.

Learn to Weave on a Rigid Heddle

A Rigid Heddle Loom is the perfect tool to expand your fiber working skills. Making your own cloth is fast and fun and opens up a world of possibilities for new projects. Make bags, scarves, towels, blankets and more. Come join us for the day learning about Rigid Heddle Weaving. You will learn how to warp the loom to make a colorful scarf. The instructor will help you pick out your yarn at the beginning of class. You will need approximately 250 to 350 yards depending on the size of the yarn. We will discuss weaving terms, how to figure warp and weft, some simple design possibilities and how to finish off your scarf.

Beginning Inkle Weaving Class

Inkle Weaving is a fun way to learn about weaving without the investment of expensive equipment to start out. An Inkle loom is a portable belt loom that is simple to warp up. Inkle bands can be used to make belts, straps, bookmarks, ornaments and more. You will learn to warp your loom and read patterns so you can re-warp a loom on your own. Finishing techniques will also be covered. We will choose the cotton yarn we will use at the beginning of class.
