Technique #3 - Weaving Baltic Style Bands - Oct 10, 2021 09:00 am
Weaving Baltic-Style Bands
These bands or inkles were traditionally woven and used in northern European countries. They can be woven on a rigid heddle, inkle, or even a backstrap loom. This band is a warp-faced structure with all of the pattern yarns being placed in the warp. The patterns can be simple or quite complex, but are always beautiful.
In class I will show you how to set up whichever loom you are working on. You will learn the pick-up methods used to create these fabulous bands. You can make a sample, something small (like a key chain) or start the straps for the Loom Tote.
The three Technique classes, taken in any order will enable you to make the Cricket Loom Tote Bag seen in the store.
Note: There is a 2 students minimum on this class. If the minimum is not met the class will be canceled and your class fee will be refunded.
