These gloves are challenging but well worth the effort, and certainly doable for an experienced knitter. They are made with 2 colors of fingering weight yarn and knitted on double point needles. They can be customized with Initials and dates on the wrist bands which will make them an instant heirloom. A great summer knitting project and a wonderful gift for yourself or someone special.

Learn to Knit (First Step)

Let us help you learn to knit. In this novice class we will cover all of the basics. The class meets for 4 consecutive weeks for a total of 6 hours of instruction. The class is suitable for ages 13 to 95. If you are outside this age range and want to learn we will give you special consideration.

Beginner Weaving on a Rigid Heddle

A Rigid Heddle Loom is the perfect tool to expand your fiber working skills. Making your own cloth is fast and fun and opens up a world of possibilities for new projects. Make bags, scarves, towels, blankets and more. Come join us for the day learning about Rigid Heddle Weaving. You will learn how to warp the loom to make a colorful scarf. The instructor will help you pick out your yarn at the beginning of class. You will need approximately 250 to 350 yards depending on the size of the yarn. We will discuss weaving terms, how to figure warp and weft, some simple design possibilities and how to finish off your scarf.

Do you know the basics of Rigid Heddle weaving but are looking to explore some new techniques? Give this Rigid Heddle class a try. In this one-day class you will make a scarf using the Clasped Warp technique. If time permits, we will try Leno Lace and Color & Weave. Bring your own loom or use one in the store for a rental fee of $15.00/week.
