What's a rolag you ask? It's that sweet roll of fibers spun from the end. Fun to spin, and fun to make, too. We'll use hand cards (available to use in class), and learn to spin them using long draw. Think of blending fiber types, colors, making stripes or adding sparkle, or reconfigure your dyed braid to suit your creative eye. Traditionally rolags are made with locks of scoured fleece, but we'll use commercially prepared fiber purchased with a class materials fee. Join us in this is a fun and creative class! (There is an additional $5.00 material fee that will be charged at the time of the class)

Learn basic spinning techniques on a drop spindle. Note: There is a 2 students minimum on this class. If the minimum is not met the class will be canceled and your class fee will be refunded.

If spinning a fine yarn is your goal, or if you naturally gravitate toward spinning fine but are having difficulty, this is the class for you. Learn proper drafting techniques for fine spinning, and which fibers may work better than others. Learn why good ergonomics are especially important with fine spinning, as is a very well operating wheel and how to keep your wheel in that condition. Spinning fine gives you more hours of spinning bliss, per ounce! Some fiber will be supplied. Join us in this fun class. (There will be a separate $5.00 materials fee charged at the time of the class.)
