A Year of Towels Weave Along #5
This is session five of six in a year of weaving towels on a rigid heddle loom. This fifth session is the clasped weft technique. Towels are one of our favorite items to produce on the loom, exploring color combinations and new techniques. Materials should be purchased from Piney Creek Yarn with enough time to be ready to weave at go time.
You will need a loom, 12 dent reed for your loom and two contrasting colors of Beam or Duet yarn. You will use the same reed throughout the year. Be sure to have your loom warped, full width with your main color. 3 yards for 2 towels, 5 yards for 4 towels.
If you would prefer to utilize this technique for a scarf or table runner that would be great as well. Just be sure to have your loom warped with a solid color in a reed appropriate for your chosen yarn. You will need two contrasting colors for weft. If you have any questions please let us know.
*All Weave Alongs are free to participate when you purchase your yarn from Piney Creek. The class fee will be credited to you at time of purchase. If you choose to use yarn purchased from outside our store the sign up fee will remain as a class fee.
